Snorkel with the largest fish in the sea - The Whale Shark! The Whale Sharks come to Holbox Island off the Yucatan coast where the Gulf of Mexico waters and of the Caribbean Sea merge. This nutrient rich (plankton laden) area is where Whale Sharks come to feed in the months of June, July and August. This "plankton bloom" provides the environment for Holbox to have the highest concentration of whale sharks in the world.
